PGA TOUR Champions heads to Colorado Springs, Colorado, for the U.S. Senior Open Championship, contested from The Broadmoor's East Course. This is the second straight week featuring a major championship on the Tour's schedule. The winner of this event will earn a spot in the U.S. Open next year at Shinnecock Hills.
Ángel Cabrera has already won two majors this year: the Regions Tradition and Senior PGA Championship. The ISPS HANDA Senior Open, scheduled for next month, will be the fifth and final major of the season. David Toms won the U.S. Senior Open the last time it was held at The Broadmoor in 2018. Among past champions at The Broadmoor, Jack Nicklaus won his first U.S. Amateur there in 1959, and Juli Inkster captured her third consecutive U.S. Women's Amateur title at the venue in 1982. The 36-hole cut will include the top 60 players and ties. Jason Gore, who previously worked for the USGA and now serves as an executive vice president and chief player officer for the PGA TOUR, is among those who advanced through qualifying. Other qualifiers include Olin Browne, Chris DiMarco, and Arjun Atwal.
